Wilkinson hired one from Michigan.

For 2009-2010? Is he totally off the plan?

Anonymous said...

I believe the Michigan hire was a graduate. Graduates are not bound to the plan.

Anonymous said...

So then he does follow the plan for law students?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Anonymous said...

That I don't know. The best way to find out is to call the chambers. The secretary will know that.

Wilkinson hires early, even for current students.

Agee hired from Richmond and William & Mary for 2008-2010.

Anonymous said...

so his clerks will go up with him, and he won't hire for 2009?

Anonymous said...

I think Virginia Supreme Court justices typically hire two clerks. Thus, if Agee completes his staff as do most other circuit judges, he will need to fill two more slots for 08-10.

Does anyone know for certain if Judge Agee is planning to hire four clerks for two year terms starting in 2008? Most judges who hire for two year terms stagger two of their clerks' start dates, so they don't end up with four knew clerks all at the same time . . . .

oops - I meant "four new clerks" not "four knew clerks"

Does anyone know if Agee plans to have his chambers in Richmond? If not, where will they be?

Anyone know when King or Michael start looking at grad applications?

Anonymous said...

Anyone know if Motz is hiring this year?

Anonymous said...

Motz just listed openings on OSCAR

Anonymous said...

Is Gregory done hiring? OSCAR indicates that he filled at least one slot.

Anonymous said...

anyone know what address one should use to send application materials to Agee? TIA

Anonymous said...

I would just call the main 4th Circuit clerk of court's office and ask for address. Did this in a parallel context and it worked out well in the end.

I called Judge Gregory's chambers, and he is still accepting graduate applications for 2009-2010.

Agee sits in Salem, Virginia and plans to continue sitting there last I heard.

Judge Gregory is accepting applications for 2009-2010. His chambers is in the process of correcting OSCAR.

Niemeyer hired an 08 UVA grad for 09-10.

Anonymous said...

Does anyone know when Niemeyer started interviewing? And does he usually give offers on the spot?

Anonymous said...

Have any graduates heard from either King or Michael in West Virginia?

Anonymous said...

I heard Agee is taking up his 2 current clerks and has hired a third, a former clerk of his. As far as I know, he has not filled the fourth slot. I heard he is waiting for the fall hiring plan for that one. I understand that he might be hiring two in the fall, as one of his current clerks is only going to stay in the federal position for a limited period. Don't know if that means he will have an immediate opening in the fall.

I called the clerk's office for the Fourth Circuit. Agee's application materials should be addressed to him and sent to the clerks office in Richmond. They then forward this mail to him until his chamers is completely established in Salem

Motz hired a Maryland Law student. Thanks for this site!

A response letter from Agee stated he has finished hiring for now but that he would consider the application in the fall cycle.

What about Karen Williams? Anyone know if she's started hiring yet?

Anonymous said...

The information my school's career services office got was that Judge Williams would be conducting interviews this week, July 7 - 11. I'm afraid that I won't be hearing from her since I haven't gotten a call yet.

Anonymous said...

Word on the street is that King's done hiring. Anyone heard the same?

Anonymous said...

Darn. Any idea where King hired from?

Anonymous said...

Karen William's OSCAR page previously said she was interviewing last week (July 7-11). It has now been updated to say that she is interviewing through July 18. So, does anyone know if she is still accepting apps?

Anonymous said...

King hired grads from UVA and GW.

Anonymous said...

King also hired a Duke 3L, so I'm assuming he's done

Anonymous said...

Karen Williams has hired one clerk, but still has one opening. She's still accepting applications, I hear, at least for the coming weeks.

Anonymous said...

King is done

Anonymous said...

Has Williams called anyone yet?

Anonymous said...

Anyone know about Michael? Is he reviewing grad applications now?

Anonymous said...

Just called the clerks office for Niemeyer. He has not started interviewing. Michael has hired one of three.

Anonymous said...

Any idea where Michael hired from? Is he still reviewing grad applications, or has he called all he plans to interview?

Anonymous said...

Anyone know where Shedd is in the process with grad applications?

Anonymous said...

Just called Judge Williams' chambers to ask about application status, which I had submitted via OSCAR. Her chambers informed me they use a gmail account as well: kjw.clerk.apps@gmail.com because OSCAR blocks applications from current students until September. Judge Williams is still accepting applications.

I had heard Shedd was done with his hires; he's definitely hired one or two already.

Is Michael still reviewing graduate applications?
